Scottish Design Galleries

The Scottish Design Galleries at the V&A Dundee showcases work across the ages and creative disciplines, ranging from 15th century illuminated manuscripts to contemporary computer games.

Acting as a centerpiece to the main gallery a table of three interactive exhibits explores three of products from the collection, the iconic Hunter wellington, Scopas Lamp and Statement Phase Necklace.

At the Hunter exhibit the visitor can explore the manufacturing process and create their own virtual Hunter wellington while learning about the history of the boot and its rise to fashion.

The Scopas lamp interactive allows the visitor to learn more about the innovative design through a non linear dynamic interface and construct their own lamp from the constituent parts.

Housed in a bespoke display case with blends the interactive presentation into the physical artifact the Statement Phase necklace exhibit allows the user to learn more about the designer Lynne MacLachlan and her design process.
